How photos drive donations

Photos are key to your crowdfunding fundraiser’s success. In fact, fundraisers with five or more photos raise significantly more than those that do not. But how do you know if your photos will inspire people to give? Here are some key things to consider.

Lighten up

You don’t need a fancy camera to take great photos. Just make sure pictures are well-lit and not blurry.

Showcase the beneficiary

Match a face to a name for potential donors. Once that human connection is made, donations are more likely to follow.

Give the full picture

Images help to show readers why help is needed. Take photos of the people and place that are part of the fundraiser.

Before adding a photo, ask yourself:

1. Is the photo blurry?

If it looks blurry to you, then it probably will for others too. Stick to high-quality photos to make the biggest impact on potential donors.

2. Is the photo big enough?

The recommended main image size is 600 pixels wide by 400 pixels tall.

3. Are there enough photos?

Make sure to have photos of different people and subjects. Variety will help tell your story and create interest.
