Homelessness is on the rise in British Columbia. Over the last five years, approximately 4,259 GoFundMe campaigns were created to help raise funds for unhoused British Columbians.

GoFundMe campaigns mirror the needs of today’s society and reflect our community’s diverse range of needs, challenges, and aspirations. The increasing number of homelessness-related campaigns in British Columbia underscores broader economic pressures, including the rising cost of living. GoFundMe has recorded approximately $5,634,487 CAD in total donation volume for campaigns created to support British Columbians with the cost-of-living.

Donate to the Foundations for Social Change

We have partnered with Vancouver-based Foundations for Social Change (FSC), a charitable organization with an innovative program that empowers people to move beyond homelessness.

In partnership with the University of British Columbia, FSC launched the New Leaf Pilot Project in Spring 2018. At the time, this was North America’s largest direct cash transfer program, providing monetary support to individuals recently experiencing homelessness in the Vancouver area.

Your donation will contribute to helping Foundations for Social Change broaden its program’s reach and boost participant numbers ahead of the second and final phases of the organization’s current project – The New Leaf Expansion Project.
