CGI U 2018 Commitments Challenge
The CGI U 2018 Commitments Challenge runs from Monday, September 17 at 12pm ET through Thursday, October 18 at 2pm ET. Participating students will compete to raise funds for their CGI U Commitments to Action – new, specific, and measurable plans to address pressing global challenges. The winning team will be announced on stage on Saturday, October 20 at CGI U 2018 at the University of Chicago. Regardless of the winner, participants will keep all funds raised on their campaign throughout the duration of the challenge.
The Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) – an initiative of The Clinton Foundation – brings college and university students together to turn ideas into action on local and global challenges. In the CGI U Commitments Challenge, student teams square off to fundraise for their Commitments to Action, and the team that raises the most money is recognized at the annual CGI U meeting hosted by President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton.
For this year’s Challenge, every student or student team has an individual fundraising page that provides more information about their commitment. All of the student teams will be participating in the CGI U 2018 meeting.
Regardless of who the final winner is, every student team will keep the funds that they raise for their Commitment to Action on GoFundMe. All funds will go directly to the individual students or through their self-identified fiscal sponsor and are not donations to CGI U or the Clinton Foundation. The maximum individual donation is $250.
