Since 2010 Carlotta has been a big part of my life and all the years I have been keeping her ready to go anywhere condition as a true blue water vessel should be. Unfortunately, my beloved vessel now lies at the bottom of a Hong Kong typhoon shelter.

<div><strong>When Typhoon #10 Wipha</strong> hit Hong Kong on the night of July 19th, a neighboring boat caught fire. The fierce winds quickly pushed the flames to my vessel, leaving me with only seconds to react. I barely had time to jump into my dinghy as toxic smoke and heat consumed everything I owned. I watched helplessly as my entire life burned and sank before my eyes.

<div><strong>I lost everything:</strong> my passport and identification documents, which were my only legal proof of existence and ability to travel; my navigation equipment that guided me safely through countless waters and storms; and irreplaceable memories collected over 15 years.

<div><strong>Currently, I'm trying to sort out</strong> all the documents and also mentally to recover from this tragedy but also trying to prepare the coming costs which are way beyond my current financial situation.

<div><strong>The harsh reality</strong> is that I only carried third-party liability insurance. The fire that destroyed my life originated from another vessel, but to recover anything, I must pursue complex maritime litigation in Hong Kong courts. Without proper legal representation, I face not only the loss of everything I owned but also the mandatory costs of wreck recovery—responsibilities that remain mine despite being the victim.
