Why Donate to the Exrealism Project?

 We are the second pillar of society: The second pillar is the freedom of expression for all men and women. Sadly, there is an utter lack of genuine support for artists of all mediums in the United States. We must nurture our artists, thinkers, and creatives. without them we have no society. At least not one worth living in. The fact is, people are dying everyday because we have failed to protect the arts, culture and freedoms of our fellow humans in this country and abroad. And yes, art & culture is that important. And it has been since the biginning of civilization...look it up!


The Exrealism Project is a Nonprofit that helps support artists in all mediums and teaches young people, and anyone for that matter, how to become, not just an artist, but a socially active and politically aware artist. We also teach people how to make an actual living as an artist. We cover all aspects of the steps to a career in the arts. These steps  are actually much like the steps to any successful career. College (not for all, but for most and something that definitely cannot hurt.), work ethic and practice (And when it comes to the arts, it may even take more work and more practice than many of the accepted careers out there). Internships, starting from the bottom, paying your dues and building networks, getting your work out there, accepting rejection and continuing on using those rejections as lessons and growth. The way to maturity and commitment. Unfortunately, due to the lack of proper government funding, or more specifically, the access to any and all funding is near impossible for the average person. We provide a two pronged approach to helping change this. First, with our own nonprofit we provide artist residencies, materials, and varying degrees of funding, plus we guarantee their work will be seen, and not just locally, but internationally, and by people who can and will help further their careers as artists. Second, we will help artists get their own grands and federal & private funding for their projects.


Here is how Exrealism works. We have guest artists come in from all over the world. They create an original piece of work here at our gallery and the process is filmed interlaced with interviews about their process and the evolution of their career. We also show the comradery that happens behind the scenes with the artists collaborating and sharing ideas; artistically, socially, politically, personally and so on. You might even catch us sitting by the fire playing music or hitting up one of the local skateparks. The original piece is then donated to the nonprofit and the entire process described above will be available, first as a streaming mini episodical show, and eventually it will become a full network series. Each artist that comes in makes up one episode. The artists will also donate their time to host workshops in their chosen mediums for all ages relative to and depending on the content of their work. 


As The Exrealism Project and Nonprofit grows we will no longer need a gofundme.com campaign or any other type of fundraisers and we will eventually be giving far more to our artists and or local and global community than we will have ever received ourselves. And even what we do receive now will all go directly to the artists and the projects that will build the foundation to sustaining this project indefinitely. 


Finally, your donations will not only help our cause and the artists we support, but you will also be directly compensated based on your donation amount. Right now we are recovering from a forced closure by our city 7 months ago that resulted in the cancellation of our first round of artists projects and community workshops. We have just now, finally, gotten word that the city is clearing our business and nonprofit, but we lost all our capital holding out during this over 7 month bureaucratic nightmare, and our nonprofit grants expired due to the uncertainty of our future at our current location. So right now we need to act fast. Literally every dollar counts and will make a huge difference to the future of this project. Once we reach a point where we can restaff our nonprofit organization we will post a list of rewards based on a donation scale. For example: Any donations up to $25 you can use as a gift card for 50% of your donation towards anything in our book store, Lhooq Books and/or our Gallery, Exrealism Gallery. $25-$100 we will have a variety of prints and unique prizes donated by businesses. And donations $250 and above is so important we guarantee something very special, right now we are working on how to scale and offer original pieces of art and/or comparable offerings equal to the monetary value of your donation. We apologize for not having more specifics at this time, but keep checking our posts for updates to see what we will have.
