HELP SAVE OUR SON

***On Monday, August 6, 2012, AFDAL AZAM LEACH decided to raise money in order to contribute to the family household.  He shared with his younger brother he wanted to surprise us by going into town to sell some of his self-designed handcrafted knives (he is a Blacksmith) at a pawn shop.  We were new to the area of Kannapolis, NC and it was to be his first time riding into town alone.
 Afdal, a 19 year old Artist, Inventor, and Blacksmith, loaded his backpack with some of his collection of knives, knife sharpening kit, laptop, camera, projector, DSI and a tennis ball with matches.  As Blacksmith, he constantly uses matches to light the Furnace (he Invented).  Additionally, some of the knives he wished to sell were too long to place safely in his backpack and decided it would be best to tape them to the frame of his bicycle.
Unfortunately, Afdal got off his bike and sat by the side of the road once he became tired with his legs cramping from cycling and realized he was lost. When a white male motorist stopped to ask if he was alright, Afdal asked the man to call the police to assist him in getting home.  This is where things went horribly wrong. 

***First, EMS arrived and failed to treat him.  Then, a fire truck arrived and simply stood around, never rendering any treatment.  When the police arrived, they failed to assist Afdal by simply driving him home or even calling his family.  Instead they stomped and kicked him, put him in their cruiser and took him to the Kannapolis/Cabarrus County Jails in Concord, NC, 11 miles from our home.

***AFDAL WAS SEARCHED WITHOUT HIS CONSENT.

***AFDAL WAS HELD AGAINST HIS WILL AND QUESTIONED UP UNTIL 4-5 AM THE NEXT MORNING OF AUGUST 7, 2012, AND IS STILL CURRENTLY BEING HELD.

***AFDAL WAS NOT GIVEN A PHONE CALL TO LET ANYONE KNOW OF HIS WHEREABOUTS ON, EVEN BEFORE HE WAS QUESTIONED & INTERROGATED BY CONCORD POLICE.

***AFDAL WAS RUSHED TO A BOND HEARING AT 9 AM ON TUESDAY MORNING, AUG. 7^TH, 2012.
MIRANDA RIGHTS WERE NOT READ TO HIM.

***AFDAL'S RIGHTS WERE CLEARLY VIOLATED.

IT HAS BEEN 50 DAYS SINCE WE HAVE PHYSICALLY EMBRACED OUR SON.
PLEASE JOIN IN AND ASSIST OUR FAMILY IN GETTING OUR SON FREE AND NOT ONLY FREE, BUT THAT HE IS CLEARED COMPLETELY OF THESE CHARGES.
