<div>I am 19-years-old Mexican guy with CLOVES Syndrome. I am very cheerful and playful thanks to my family and God I have an unshakable faith. Throughout most of my life, I have undergone various surgical procedures due to my condition. Each surgery requires multiple treatments that are very expensive.

<div>The disease I have is so rare that I am

<div>approximately one of only 200 cases worldwide.
</div>
<div>This condition, classified as a rare disease, is not hereditary and occurs spontaneously during embryonic development.
</div>
<div>The acronym stands for;

<div>Lipomatous
</div>
<div>Overgrowth,
</div>
<div>Vascular Malformations,
</div>
<div>Epidermal Nevi,
</div>
<div>Spinal/Skeletal Anomalies/ Scoliosis.

<div>My treatment has always been, and continues to be, extremely costly. It demands frequent medical evaluations, continuous care, and a constant search for new treatments and solutions to enhance my quality of life. Furthermore, managing this condition is incredibly challenging because there are no specialists in my country with expertise in it, making access to proper care difficult.
</div>
<div>Since June 2023, I have been battling a venous ulcer on my left foot, which has confined me to a wheelchair. The wound has gradually spread across my entire foot, exposing my tendons and causing severe bleeding episodes that constantly endanger my life. Any infection could be fatal.
</div>
<div>When bacteria infect my exposed wounds, they are treated with intravenous antibiotics administered through a catheter. Sadly, due to vascular malformations, I have already lost three toes to necrosis.

<div>Unfortunately, necrosis has now affected my two remaining toes, and I urgently need surgery to remove them. This procedure is highly expensive and involves costly medical tests, a week-long hospital stay, and essential medications to prevent a severe infection that could threaten not only my foot and leg but also my life.

<div>For this reason, my entire family and loved ones, always keeping God at the center of our fight, are doing everything possible to support my wellbeing and improving my quality of life.

<div>La enfermedad que padezco es tan rara que aproximadamente soy un caso de 200 en todo el mundo, esta enfermedad considerada como rara, no es hereditaria y ocurre de manera espontánea durante el desarrollo embrionario. El nombre es un acrónimo-acróstico en inglés de las principales características clínicas que lo describen:

<div>Lipomatous (lipomatosis, crecimiento anómalo de tejido graso)

<div>Overgrowth (sobrecrecimiento de tejidos)
</div>

<div>Epidermal Nevi (nevus epidérmico, lesiones en la piel)
</div>
<div>Scoliosis/Spinal Anomalies (escoliosis y anomalías espinales)

<div>Mi tratamiento ha sido y es muy costoso, requiere múltiples y constantes evaluaciones médicas, atención médica continua y constante búsqueda de nuevos tratamientos y opciones para mejorar

<div>mi calidad de vida. Además, el tratamiento de este padecimiento es muy complejo, ya que no hay especialistas que lo conozcan en mi país, lo que dificulta su atención, así como los medicamentos y tratamientos que requiero son demasiado costosos.

<div>A partir del mes de junio del año 2023, he padecido de una úlcera venosa en mi pie izquierdo que me ha mantenido en silla de ruedas, ya que esa herida se ha extendido a todo mi pie dejándome con tendones expuestos al grado de tener sangrados importantes que ponen en un constante riesgo mi vida, ya que cualquier infección pondría ser mortal, cuando las bacterias atacan mis heridas expuestas se han tratado con antibióticos vía intravenosa a través de un catéter y que tristemente ya perdí tres de mis dedos que se han necrosado debido a malformaciones vasculares. Actualmente estoy presentando necrosis en los dos dedos que me quedan y requiero de una cirugía urgente y costosa para retirarme esos dos dedos y que implica estudios médicos costosos, internamiento por una semana en el hospital, también necesito aplicación de medicamentos y así evitar una infección grave que pueda poner en riesgo mi pie y mi pierna y así evitar que se extienda por toda mi pierna.

<div>We are reaching out  to support an incredibly brave young man named Galo André, who lives in Mexico.

<div>Galo is a 19-year-old with a rare condition called CLOVES Syndrome—a disorder so uncommon that he is one of only about 200 cases worldwide. Since childhood, Galo has undergone multiple surgeries and treatments that are not available in his country and come at a very high cost.

<div>In June 2023, Galo developed a severe venous ulcer on his left foot, which led to necrosis. He lost three toes, and in March 2025, he underwent surgery to amputate the remaining two. Unfortunately, doctors had to remove half of his foot due to the extent of the infection.

<div>Now, Galo is connected to a VAC therapy machine, which helps drain and heal the wound. Since they couldn’t close the surgical site, he requires weekly or biweekly deep surgical cleanings in the operating room and silver patch dressings. In addition, he is receiving intravenous antibiotics through a catheter, and he takes multiple oral medications daily.

<div>His mother, Bere, is his only caregiver and has not been able to work for over a year due to his delicate condition. Their resources are completely exhausted.

Como no pudieron suturar la zona, requiere lavados quirúrgicos profundos cada semana o cada 10 días en quirófano, además del uso de parches de plata. También recibe antibióticos intravenosos a través de un catéter, y debe tomar varios medicamentos vía oral cada día.
