<div>Jag heter Kristina och jag är 44 år, snart 45.

<div>Det här är något jag burit länge, men nu har jag nått en punkt där jag inte längre kan vänta, och därför vågar jag be om hjälp.
</div>

<div>2018 genomgick jag en operation för att ta bort cystor. Den ena satt i äggstocken och den andra utanpå den andra äggstocken. I samband med att man tog bort cystan i äggstocken förlorade jag en stor del av min äggreserv.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Under operationen upptäcktes också att jag hade Endometrios, en hemsk kronisk autoimmun sjukdom, med härdar spridda över hela bukhinnan – något som förklarade den smärta jag levt med länge, ofta jämförbar med kraftiga sammandragningar eller bukhinneinflammation.

<div>Kirurgen sa då till mig: “Om du vill ha barn, behöver du börja nu, och du kommer troligtvis behöva hjälp via IVF.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jag hade ingen partner då, men valde ändå att försöka på egen hand. Jag ställde mig i kö för IVF via landstinget.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Mitt första försök startade i februari 2020 – precis när covid slog till. Kliniken var i en pressad situation, och embryot sattes in tidigare än planerat. Dagen efter insättningen stängde kliniken helt då personalen omplacerades till covidavdelningar. Ett par veckor efter fick jag missfall.

<div>Mitt andra försök var i september samma år, några månader senare. Det kunde tyvärr inte fullföljas på grund av en traumatisk händelse som ledde till kraftiga blödningar.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jag passerade åldersgränsen för att få hjälp via landstinget och fick inga fler försök och covid-situationen vart värre så jag tog en paus från det.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>För att orka gå vidare byggde jag upp något eget, jag startade min frisörsalong 2021. Det har varit en resa jag är stolt över, men också ekonomiskt krävande.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Idag står jag här igen, med en stark vilja att försöka en sista gång.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Men nu har jag också hamnat i tidigt klimakterium, vilket gör situationen ännu svårare.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I Sverige kostar ett försök med donerade ägg &amp; spermadonator, sk ”embryoadoption”, cirka 110 000 kr, med ingen möjlighet till information om donatorerna.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jag har därför varit i kontakt med en klinik på Cypern. Där finns möjlighet till 4 försök till en mer samlad kostnad än vad motsvarande behandlingar skulle kosta här, och man kan även få mer information om donatorerna.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Eftersom jag gör denna resa själv betyder det mycket att åtminstone ha någon form av insyn och valmöjlighet – det är det lilla jag faktiskt kan ha kontroll över i en annars väldigt osäker process.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Kostnaden för behandlingen är cirka 29 900 euro (över 300 000 kr), exklusive resor och mediciner.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jag har inte möjlighet att ta fler lån.
</div>
<div>Och jag har inte tid att vänta längre.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Därför ber jag nu om hjälp.
</div>

<div>My name is Kristina, and I am 44 years old, turning 45 soon.

<div>This is something I have carried with me for a long time, but I have now reached a point where I can no longer wait — and that is why I am finally asking for help.
</div>

</div>
<div>In 2018, I underwent surgery to remove cysts. One was located inside my ovary, and the other was attached to the outside of my other ovary. During the removal of the cyst inside the ovary, I lost a large part of my ovarian reserve.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During the surgery, I was also diagnosed with endometriosis — a severe chronic autoimmune disease — with lesions spread across my abdominal lining. This explained the pain I had been living with for a long time, often comparable to intense contractions or inflammation of the abdominal lining.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The surgeon told me at the time:
</div>
<div>“If you want to have children, you need to start now, and you will most likely need help through IVF.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I did not have a partner then, but I chose to try on my own. I entered the public healthcare queue for IVF.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My first attempt began in February 2020 — just as Covid hit. The clinic was under immense pressure, and the embryo was transferred earlier than planned. The day after the transfer, the clinic completely shut down as staff were reassigned to Covid units. A few weeks later, I miscarried.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My second attempt took place in September the same year. Unfortunately, it could not be completed due to a traumatic event that led to heavy bleeding.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I then passed the age limit for public IVF treatment in Sweden and was not granted any further attempts. As the Covid situation worsened, I decided to take a break.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To be able to move forward, I built something of my own — I opened my hair salon in 2021. It has been a journey I am proud of, but also financially demanding.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, I find myself here again, with a strong desire to try one last time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, I have now also entered early menopause, which makes the situation even more difficult.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In Sweden, a treatment with donor eggs and donor sperm — often referred to as embryo adoption — costs around 110.000 SEK, with no possibility of receiving information about the donors.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I have therefore been in contact with a clinic in Cyprus. There, I have the opportunity for up to four attempts at a more combined cost compared to similar treatments in Sweden, and with more available information about the donors.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since I am going through this journey alone, it means a lot to at least have some level of insight and choice — it is one of the few things I can actually control in an otherwise very uncertain process.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The cost of the treatment is approximately €29.900 (over 300.000 SEK), excluding travel and medication.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I do not have the possibility to take on more loans.
</div>
<div>And I no longer have time to wait.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That is why I am now asking for help.
</div>

</div>
