<div>När min klasskompis Freke sökte till vår kurs på malmö folkhögskola gav CSNs hemsida ingen indikation på att något skulle vara fel. Tvärtom blev han informerad om att han var garanterad studiemedel under hela den årslånga kursen. Det kom därför som en chock när studiemedlen för vårterminen helt enkelt uteblev.

<div>Utan att notifiera honom i förväg hade CSN valt att inte göra utbetalningar under våren, med anledning av att de gjort en initial felbedömning av hans återstående studiemedelsberättigade veckor. Efter en lång process av överklaganden och telefonsamtal har vi till slut nått en punkt där Freke, hans fru och deras två katter lever på ett studielån. De har ingen marginal för oförutsedda kostnader, och försöker samtidigt hantera hotet om deportation som hänger över hans fru.

<div>Vi går en ettårig kurs i spelutveckling, och har just börjat en period av eget projektarbete. Tillsammans med en klasskompis som gör musik har vi börjat utvecklingen av ett spel vi planerar att släppa någon gång i höst. Freke är ansvarig för koncept, design och programmering.
</div>
<div>För att inte behöva hoppa av utbildningen samt söka jobb för att kunna betala hyra och mat, behöver Freke runt 8 000 kr i månaden. Som en jämnårig student är allt jag kan göra att be dig hjälpa honom att fortsätta göra vad han älskar. Att laga extra mycket mat att ta med till skolan täcker inte hans räkningar. Om du kan, bidra gärna med ett par hundra kronor, eller bara en 20:a, eller dela fundraisern med andra du tror är villiga att bidra.

<div>When my classmate Freke applied for a year-long class att Malmö Folkhögskola, CSNs website told him that he would recieve funds and be able to take a student loan for the entire study period. This later turned out to be false, due to a miscalculation on their part leading to him recieving only half of his promised study funds. He now faces having to complete the spring semester either relying entirely on his wife's own CSN to support him and their two cats, or having to drop out to look for a job.

<div>We're currently a few weeks into a personal project period. Together with a classmate who makes music, Freke and I are developing an arcade-style beat-em-up game with colour coordination attack mechanics. We're planning on releasing it some time this autumn. In order to not drop out, Freke needs around 8 000 kr per month to cover rent and food. As a fellow student on CSN, all I can do is to ask you to help make sure he can stay in class to keep doing what he loves. If you have money to spare, please consider supporting him.
