<div>El mayor problema ahora no es el diagnóstico… es el tiempo.
</div>
<div>Nuestro seguro médico (SURA) no ha negado la cirugía, pero sí el tipo de procedimiento recomendado, lo que ha detenido todo en procesos administrativos y segundas opiniones que pueden tardar días.
</div>
<div>Y nosotros no tenemos esos días.
</div>
<div>Por temas laborales con el IMSS, tenemos una ventana límite de solo 2 días (antes del 30 de abril).
</div>
<div>Si no se resuelve en ese tiempo, Pepe podría ser dado de alta de forma definitiva con una pensión mínima, sin posibilidad de volver a trabajar, lo que afectaría gravemente a nuestra familia.
</div>
<div>Por eso estamos buscando una solución inmediata por fuera.
</div>
<div>El costo total de la cirugía, hospitalización, materiales y gastos médicos es aproximadamente:

<div>Sabemos que es una cantidad muy alta, pero hoy representa la única oportunidad de evitar daño irreversible y darle a Pepe la posibilidad de recuperarse y seguir adelante con su vida.

<div>Hola, mi nombre es Pamela y hoy quiero pedir ayuda para mi esposo, José Hernández Esperanza, de 46 años, un hombre trabajador, papá de tres niños pequeños y el pilar de nuestra familia.

<div>Pepe es gerente comercial en una empresa de plotters y siempre ha sido una persona activa, responsable y comprometida con su trabajo y su familia. Todo cambió en febrero de 2025, cuando sufrió una caída que inicialmente fue diagnosticada como una simple lumbalgia. En ese momento tenía dolor en la parte baja de la espalda, pero nada que pareciera grave.

<div>Sin embargo, con el paso de los meses su estado fue empeorando. Entre febrero y agosto comenzó a perder sensibilidad en la pierna izquierda, hasta que en agosto ocurrió algo alarmante: una mañana despertó sin poder mover las piernas y no pudo levantarse durante horas. A partir de ese momento comenzó un proceso muy difícil dentro del sistema de salud, con incapacidades semanales y múltiples estudios.

<div>En septiembre y octubre vivimos uno de los momentos más duros: Pepe perdió la vista completamente durante varios días. Acudimos al hospital de La Raza, donde lamentablemente nos dijeron que estaba fingiendo. Con el tiempo, su vista fue regresando poco a poco, pero fue una experiencia muy angustiante para toda la familia.

<div>Después de meses de estudios y de ser enviado de una especialidad a otra sin respuestas claras, finalmente logramos llegar a neurología de tercer nivel. Ahí nos confirmaron el diagnóstico:
</div>
<div>Mielopatía cervical por hernia en C5-C6, lo que significa que hay una compresión directa en la médula espinal.
</div>
<div>Nos explicaron que esta condición requiere cirugía, ya que si no se atiende puede seguir avanzando hasta provocar pérdida total de movilidad e incluso dejarlo en silla de ruedas. Por otro lado, si se opera a tiempo, tiene la posibilidad de recuperar hasta un 80% de su calidad de vida.

<div>Buscamos una segunda opinión con un neurocirujano particular, quien fue muy claro:
</div>
<div>la cirugía debe realizarse lo antes posible, idealmente en un plazo de 2 a 3 semanas.
</div>
<div>Contamos con seguro de gastos médicos mayores, el cual cubre la cirugía. Sin embargo, nos solicitan cubrir un coaseguro de $30,000 y deducible de $20,000 que suman $50,000 pesos, cantidad que en este momento no tenemos.
</div>
<div>Estamos luchando por conseguir algum descuento en el deducible sin embargo no es algo seguro.
</div>
<div>Hemos intentado todo por la vía del IMSS, pero el proceso puede tardar varios meses más, ya que depende de autorizaciones de tercer nivel. Lamentablemente, en el trabajo de Pepe ya le han indicado que si su incapacidad se prolonga más de 3 meses, podrían terminar su relación laboral. Esto no solo afectaría su salud, sino también la estabilidad económica de nuestra familia.

<div>Tenemos tres hijos pequeños: una niña de 7 años, otra de 4 y un bebé de 1 año. Ellos dependen completamente de nosotros.
</div>
<div>Durante estos meses hemos tenido que cubrir muchos estudios por fuera, lo que agotó nuestros ahorros. Hoy nos encontramos en una situación donde necesitamos actuar rápido, pero no contamos con los recursos suficientes.
</div>
<div>Por eso hoy me atrevo a pedir ayuda.

<div>El neurocirujano particular le mando a realizar unos estudios para descartar diferentes tipos de Esclerosis en los cuales nos gastamos poco más de $30,000

<div>Afortunadamente salio negativo sin embargo hay una condición que se llama MOGAD y puede tener la enfermedad sin mostrar los anticuerpos en los estudios de sangre dicha enfermedad es un trastorno autoinmune poco frecuente del sistema nervioso central. El sistema inmunitario ataca por error la mielina (capa protectora de los nervios), causando inflamación en el nervio óptico, médula espinal o cerebro.

<div>Y el diagnóstico actual es Mielopatia cervical. Con la cirugía logramos que no pierda movilidad pero también tendremos que ver que no haya mas daño a la médula espinal.
</div>
<div>Cualquier aportación, por pequeña que sea, nos acerca a lograr que Pepe pueda operarse a tiempo, recuperarse y seguir adelante con su vida y su familia.
</div>

<div>Hello, my name is Pamela, and today I am reaching out to ask for help for my husband, José Hernández Esperanza, a 46-year-old hardworking man, father of three young children, and the pillar of our family.

<div>Pepe works as a commercial manager at a plotter company and has always been active, responsible, and deeply committed to both his job and his family. Everything changed in February 2025 when he suffered a fall that was initially diagnosed as a simple lower back strain. At that time, he had pain in his lower back, but nothing that seemed serious.
</div>
<div>However, over the following months, his condition worsened. Between February and August, he began losing sensation in his left leg, until in August something alarming happened: one morning he woke up unable to move his legs and couldn’t get up for several hours. From that moment on, we entered a very difficult process within the healthcare system, with weekly medical leave and multiple tests.
</div>
<div>In September and October, we went through one of the hardest moments: Pepe completely lost his vision for several days. We went to La Raza hospital, where unfortunately we were told he was pretending. Over time, his vision gradually returned, but it was an extremely distressing experience for our entire family.
</div>
<div>After months of tests and being referred from one specialty to another without clear answers, we were finally able to see a third-level neurology specialist. There, we received the diagnosis:
</div>
<div>Cervical myelopathy caused by a herniated disc at C5-C6, which means there is direct compression on the spinal cord.
</div>
<div>We were told that this condition requires surgery, as without treatment it can continue to progress and lead to total loss of mobility, even leaving him in a wheelchair. On the other hand, if surgery is performed in time, he has the possibility of recovering up to 80% of his previous quality of life.
</div>
<div>We sought a second opinion from a private neurosurgeon, who was very clear:
</div>
<div>the surgery must be performed as soon as possible, ideally within the next 2 to 3 weeks.
</div>
<div>We do have major medical insurance, which covers the surgery. However, we are required to pay a deductible and co-insurance totaling $50,000 MXN, an amount we do not currently have.
</div>
<div>We have tried everything through the public healthcare system (IMSS), but the process could take several more months due to required approvals at a higher level. Unfortunately, Pepe’s workplace has already informed him that if his medical leave extends beyond 3 months, his employment may be terminated. This would not only affect his health but also our family’s financial stability.
</div>
<div>We have three young children: a 7-year-old daughter, a 4-year-old daughter, and a 1-year-old baby. They depend entirely on us.
</div>
<div>During these past months, we have had to pay for many medical tests out of pocket, which has exhausted our savings. Today, we find ourselves in a situation where we need to act quickly, but we do not have the necessary resources.
</div>
<div>That is why today I am reaching out to ask for help.
</div>
<div>Any contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to making it possible for Pepe to have his surgery on time, recover, and continue his life with his family.
