Lily Ruby's Scoliosis V.B.T Surgery

Lilys story.....
We are hoping to raise funds to enable our daughter lily to have V.B.T surgery .
Lily is an active , bright , polite 11 year old who loves anything to do with animals, trampolining, horse riding, dancing and yoga. She loves to walk her 2 dogs but is finding it harder now with the constant aches and pains.
 2 years ago we discovered lily has Idiopathic Scoliosis .She has an “S” shaped Scoliosis meaning she has 2 curves along her spine .Her lumber curve is 46 degree and her thoracic curve is 37 degree . She has a rib hump rotation and a trunk shift..Lily has been wearing a brace for 23 hours a day, she has been so good in wearing it and never complains, but still the curve is progressing at an alarming rate.
We are now finding that we need to think about surgery for lily. We knew she would need surgery at some point but didn’t think it would be so soon. Our N.H.S have been brilliant and supportive and are able to offer a spinal fusion but with lilys curves this means this will limit her flexibility and the fusion will accelerate adjacent segment degeneration , with the fusion lily would have Rods put either side of spine.
We have looked into another type of surgeřy called Vertebral Body Tethering (V.B.T) surgery . lily is a good candidate for this surgery.
With V.B.T lily will keep her flexibility and will recover from surgery much quicker as it's less invasive .At present V.B.T is not available in this country so our only option is to try to raise some funds to enable lily to go to Germany to have this surgery.
Lilys Dr in Germany would like to do the surgery once lily is 12 yrs old in june2019. By waiting it will give the best results however , if one of the curves reaches 50 degree before shes 12 we need to go ahead and plan for immediate surgery .

As lilys parents , we only want the best option for our child. We feel that V.B.T is the best option.
