My name is Sofia Gonzalez. I am from the Bronx, New York, and I need some help making ends meet.  My educational and career goals are being clouded by financial stressors that are keeping me from gaining the experience I need to thrive in these areas. I have been paying for university almost entirely through student loans, putting me in an anxiety inducing amount of debt. On top of that, the coronavirus crisis has made it impossible to find work to support myself.  With your help, I can pay some of my tuition and afford living expenses for the Fall 2020 semester. The sooner I can secure some funding, the better. This money would literally change the trajectory of my life and allow me to continue pursuing my education and my career goals.  Chipping in the amount of your daily coffee or even just a dollar would mean the absolute world to me. These times have shown us how important it is that we all care for one another, and I would be eternally grateful to anyone who extends such generosity to me. I am a first-generation American and first-generation college student, entering my third year at George Washington University. I am majoring in Gender Studies and American Studies and am on the pre-law track. I am dedicated to women's rights and reproductive justice specifically, and have done much work to that end, from volunteering with the DC Abortion Fund to coordinating volunteer trips to a domestic violence shelter for four years. However, it is difficult to support myself and do this important volunteer work at the same time, making me less effective as an advocate and making it difficult for me to pursue my goals. I hope to go to law school and continue my fight for reproductive freedom on a larger scale. I want to dedicate my life's work to reproductive justice and liberation for women and nonbinary folks of color. As a Latina woman, I want to one day give back to my community, which is largely disenfranchised and ignored.  If you are able, please help me continue to help others as an advocate and organizer!
