Mijn naam is Yolanda, ik ben 31 jaar en moeder van zes prachtige jonge kinderen. Tot medio juli dit jaar was ik bezig met het afstuderen aan een voltijd HBO studie Maatschappelijk werk en dienstverlening. Helaas is het tot het behalen van mijn diploma niet gekomen, want vanaf november 2018 werd ik met de week zieker. Sluimerende klachten die jarenlang door verschillende huisartsen werden weggewuifd onder het mom van 'ontzwangeren, het hebben van een groot gezin, voltijd studeren en het griepseizoen', bleken achteraf allemaal onderdeel van mijn grootste nachtmerrie. Op 30 augustus 2019 kreeg ik de diagnose Non-Hodgkin Folliculair Lymfoom, een tot op heden ongeneeslijke vorm van lymfeklierkanker. Momenteel ben ik in behandeling met chemo- en immunotherapie, maar ondanks dat deze behandeling lijkt aan te slaan, zegt dit nog niks over mijn toekomst. In het kort omschreven ben ik een tikkende tijdbom. De kanker zal op den duur weer de overhand nemen, de vraag is alleen wanneer. Artsen zeggen dat ik als ik mazzel heb de 10 jaars grens zou kunnen halen.. 

Al jaren leven mijn partner en ik toe naar een stabiele toekomst voor ons gezin. Hij werkt 40 uur per week en daarnaast zet hij zich 24/7 in als vrijwillige brandweer in onze regio, ik studeerde, het was een naar ons idee goede investering. Niet wetende dat onze tijd samen meer kostbaar is dan ons lief is. 
Met mijn huidige situatie val ik helaas met oog op veel sociale voorzieningen net buiten de boot. Ook bijkomende medische kosten maken ons financieel gezien kwetsbaar. 

Mijn grootste wens is het creëren van een zo onbezorgd mogelijke tijd voor onze kleintjes, waarbij het mogelijk is om mooie, blijvende herinneringen te maken. Daarnaast streef ik naar een financieel zekere toekomst, zodat mijn kinderen ook kunnen studeren zonder zorgen. Helaas ben ik zelf niet meer in staat hier een actieve bijdrage in te leveren, dus vraag ik hierbij uw hulp. En zie ik een crowdfunding als het minste dat ik als moeder nog voor mijn kinderen kan betekenen.

'My name is Yolanda, I'm a 31 year old mother of six beautiful young children. 
Until mid-July last year I was in the middle of graduating from a full-time HBO study (higher professional education) in Social Work and Services. Unfortunately I didn't get my diploma because from November 2018 I became sicker every week. For years dormant complaints had been dismissed by various GPs under the guise of 'post pregnancy issues, having a large family, studying full-time and the flu season'. It turned out to be my biggest nightmare. 
On August 30, 2019 I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Follicular Lymphoma, a form of lymph node cancer which isn't curable (yet). I am currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and although the treatment seems to work the cancer will eventually take the upper hand again, the question is only when. In short, I am a ticking time bomb. Doctors say that if I'm lucky I could reach the 10 year limit.

For years my partner and I had been working towards a stable future for our family. He works 40 hours a week, as well as 24/7 with the volunteer fire service. And my studies seemed to be a good investment, not knowing that our time together was going to be more precious than we could ever had imagined. Unfortunately at present I'm not entitled to  many social benefits. Additional medical costs also make us financially vulnerable. 

My greatest wish is to create a carefree time for our little ones, as much as this is possible,   and the chance to make beautiful, lasting memories. I also strive for a financially secure future, enough so my children can study without worry. Sadly I am no longer able to make an active contribution myself, so I kindly ask for your help.
