<div>Hi, my name is Sara, and I live in Sweden with my beloved dog, Leya.

<div>Leya will be turning seven this September, and she’s been by my side since she was just an eight-week-old puppy. She's not just a dog - she’s my companion and family.
</div>

<div>Sadly, Leya recently suffered an external injury that resulted in a torn cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right hind leg. Because of this, she limps and struggles to put weight on her leg. We’ve been to the vet, where she underwent x-rays and several tests. Since then, she’s been on daily pain medication (Alvedon) to help manage her discomfort.

<div>The vet told me that the only real way to give Leya a chance at a full recovery is through surgery—a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). The only alternative would be to continue with rehabilitation and painkillers for approximately the rest of her life, which would mean a much more restricted life; no more running, jumping, or playing like a dog should be able to.

<div>Leya had a similar surgery on her left hind leg back in 2020. Because of that, the insurance company placed an exclusion clause on her right leg, which means they won’t cover any costs related to this injury. Sadly, I have no financial support from the insurance, even though this surgery is absolutely necessary.

<div>I recently started a part-time job in mid February with a low income, and I haven’t been able to save enough money. The cost of the surgery is between 45,000 and 55,000 SEK, depending on the clinic. I will of course do my best to find a skilled surgeon with reasonable prices.

<div>This is the very first time I’ve ever created a GoFundMe or a fundraiser for help, but I am truly desperate. Leya means the world to me, and I just want her to live a happy, healthy life again. <div>Tyvärr har Leya nyligen drabbats av en yttre skada som ledde till att hennes korsband (ACL) i höger bakben slets av. Det har gjort att hon haltar och har svårt att stödja ordentligt på benet. Vi har varit hos veterinären, där hon röntgades och genomgick flera tester. Sedan dess har hon fått smärtstillande medicin (Alvedon) varje dag för att lindra smärtan.

<div>Veterinären berättade att det enda riktiga sättet att ge Leya en chans till full återhämtning är genom en operation – en så kallad TPLO-operation (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). På grund av det har försäkringsbolaget infört en undantagsklausul även för hennes högra bakben, vilket innebär att de inte täcker några kostnader relaterade till den här skadan. Jag får alltså ingen ekonomisk hjälp från försäkringen, trots att operationen är helt nödvändig.

<div>Jag började nyligen jobba deltid i mitten av februari och har en låg inkomst, så jag har inte haft möjlighet att spara ihop pengar.
