<div>Hi, my name is Martina. In march 2024 my brother Jocke was diagnosed with penile cancer at the age of 36. The cancer was advanced and had spread to his pelvic lymph nodes.

<div>He has been through multiple operations and rounds of chemotherapy and in August of this year Jocke was supposed to have a routine scan before beginning a round of radiation therapy to prevent the worst from happening, that the cancer would spread. Unfortunately that is when the oncologists discovered that the cancer, we thought was gone, had spread to both of Jockes lungs. We would come to learn that this is unfortunately inoperable.

<div>Penile cancer is incredibly rare and even rarer in such a young person. Therefore research is very limited resulting in even more limited treatment options. Here in Sweden Jocke has been offered immunotherapy but options are limited and there are no specific guidelines for treatment of stage 4 penile cancer.

<div>The uncertainty and limited treatment options provided by the Swedish healthcare system has forced us to look for options outside of Sweden. Through research and various contacts we have found that Germany is at the forefront of cancer research, and can provide much more advanced forms of immunotherapy . We have found a clinic in Munich, Germany that has capabilities to provide Jocke with Dendritic cell-based immunotherapy, which Sweden cannot yet offer. The treatment that Germany offers gives Jocke a better prognosis and a hope to beat his cancer.

<div>The hospital in Munich has quoted approximately 35,000 euros for treatment. This will be out of pocket for us.
</div>

<div>With all things considered it is a no brainer to send Jocke to Germany to greatly improve his odds of survival. We would appreciate any financial support to help cover medical and travel expenses. We are grateful for every donation, big or small.

<div>Han har genomgått flera operationer och cellgiftsbehandlingar och i augusti i år skulle Jocke genomgå en rutinundersökning innan han påbörjade strålbehandling för att förhindra att det värsta skulle inträffa, att cancern skulle sprida sig. Tyvärr var det då onkologer upptäckte att cancern, som vi trodde var borta, hade spridit sig till Jockes båda lungor. Det visade sig att detta inte går att operera.

<div>Peniscancer är otroligt sällsynt och ännu ovanligare hos en så ung person, därför är forskningen mycket begränsad vilket resulterar i ännu mer begränsade behandlingsalternativ. Här i Sverige har Jocke erbjudits immunterapi men alternativen är begränsade och det finns inga specifika riktlinjer eller behandling för stadium 4 peniscancer.

<div>Den osäkerhet och begränsade behandlingsmöjligheter som den svenska sjukvården erbjuder har tvingat oss att leta efter alternativ utanför Sverige. Genom efterforskningar och olika kontakter har vi funnit att Tyskland ligger i framkant av cancerforskningen och kan tillhandahålla mycket mer avancerade former av immunterapi. Vi har hittat en klinik i München, Tyskland, som har kunskapen att förse Jocke med immunterapi med dendritiska celler, vilket Sverige ännu inte kan erbjuda. Behandlingen som Tyskland erbjuder ger Jocke en bättre prognos och ett hopp om att besegra sin cancer.

<div>Sjukhuset i München har uppskattat att behandlingen kommer att kosta cirka 35 000 euro. Detta kommer att behöva betalas ur egen ficka.
</div>

<div>Med allt i beaktande och ett liv i fara är det ingen tvekan att skicka Jocke till Tyskland för att avsevärt förbättra hans chanser att överleva. Vi skulle därför uppskatta om ni kan tänka er att bidra med ekonomiskt stöd för att hjälpa till att täcka delar av sjukvårds- och resekostnaderna. Vi är tacksamma för varje donation, stor som liten.
