He has led teams of doctors and healthcare workers in the aftermath of disasters like earthquakes, floods, epidemics, and even tornadoes. He is dedicated, altruistic, and never hesitates when it comes to helping others. Now, it’s our turn to do the same for him.

<div>Today (31 August) they will operate doing a<strong> coronary artery bypass</strong> <strong>surgery</strong> because his main arteries are severely blocked at both sides of his heart, putting him at <strong>risk of sudden death</strong>.

<div>The doctors have told us that the <strong>surgery needed to happen this week</strong> for him to have a good chance of recovery. We are actively seeking financial support, we fortunately have been able to afford the majority of this surgery with everybody’s help. Our family is asking for any help you can provide; every contribution, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated.

<div>Hoy 31 de Agosto le harán una cirugía de bypass de las arterias coronarias porque sus arterias principales están gravemente bloqueadas en ambos lados de su corazón, poniéndolo en riesgo de muerte súbita. Lleva una semana en el hospital y no está en condiciones de ser trasladado fuera de la ciudad. Desafortunadamente, el hospital público donde está actualmente no tiene la capacidad para realizar esta cirugía crítica, y nos vimos en la necesidad por la urgencia de operarlo en un hospital privado.

<div>Los doctores nos han informado que la cirugía tenía que realizarse esta semana para que tenga una buena oportunidad de recuperación. Ya hemos podido cubrir la mayoría del costo de la cirugía con el apoyo de todos.
