Handicaped Bathroom Remodel for Grant

Donation protected
Grant LeHew is a fun-loving, good hearted, video game playing, 12 year old 7th grader! He also happens to have a neuromuscular condition called SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). This condition affects his muscle strength and has forced Grant to use a wheelchair full-time.

A common side affect for SMA is scoliosis. We found out a few weeks ago that Grant will need a spinal fusion surgery to correct his curve. We have scheduled the surgery for October 30th at Johns Hopkins. Grant will be in the hospital for around 5 days and then in the Kennedy Kreiger Rehab Institute for about 3-4 weeks before coming home.

This is why we have started this campaign. Before Grant comes home we need to remodel his bathroom so that it is functional for him. This would mean a zero entry shower, elevated toilet with rails and more room to turn in his chair. Our goal is for Grant to be as independent as he can be, but the cost of making things accessible is expensive and frankly, we need your help.

If you care for Grant, please pray for his upcoming surgery and recovery and consider donating to help us make his bathroom accessible.

Thank you and God bless,
