Help Me Get to Bronycon

Donation protected
Hey guys,

I really, really hate to be a shill about this, I really do. I started seeing the most wonderful girl in the world about nine months ago through the My Little Pony fandom. We've met a couple of times over the course of the past year or so, but we haven't had a significant amount of time together in person. We were going to use Bronycon as a thing for us both to be in the same place at the same time; part date, part meet-up, part enjoying not only each other's company but the company of a whole bunch of people into the same stuff we are.

However, we've hit a snag. The plan was for me to get a job over the course of the summer in order to make enough money for a train ticket down to Baltimore (where Bronycon is held) as well as money for other expenses, while she would save us both money by having us stay in the same hotel room along with a bunch of other MLP fans. The problem is, my luck this summer has been absolutely horrendous, and every single job that I'v applied to has yet to call me back. With only a few weeks now to go until the con happens, I'm gonna need the cash to pay for my expenses to get there.

This really is my last resort. I don't like to break promises, and I promised my girl that I would be there at the con. I don't want to break her heart and be absent. Sure, there's a bunch of other friends that she's hanging out with there, but she and I both know that if we're not together there's a real big hole in each other's lives that Skype and other forms of instant communication can only do so much to fill. I really, really hate doing this, because I'd like to think that I'm an independent fella at heart, and doing stuff like asking for donations is one of the lower points of my life. But I really want to make her happy, to be with her as we meet a whole bunch of cool people, hang out at whatever is worth seeing at Baltimore that isn't burning right now, just to be physically there for one another.

She's not the only one I've made this promise to, either, and this isn't the first time I've had economic troubles right before going to a convention. Most of my online circle of friends, who I don't usually get to see in person, are also coming to the con, and want to be sure that I'll be there. And I want to be there. I want to be with a group of my friends that I almost never get to see in person.

I don't know how I'll be able to repay anyone who sends a few bucks my way, but I know that if I get fully funded I will be eternally grateful to all of you, and I'll try to find some way to recompense you guys. It seems like a really shallow thing compared to a whole bunch of the other campaigns here, I know, but it would make me and my girlfriend so, so happy to see each other again. So please consider funding my little excursion to Baltimore.

Thanks in advance.
