Family RTX Convention Trip

A few years ago, I decided to take my boys on our first real summer vacation after I began to realize that I had precious little time before their teenage years. Making memories like these are never a bad idea, right? The vacation we went on circled around a mutual love we all have for the gaming world, and some of the personalities we look up to as pioneers of their trade: combining much of the gaming world with that of the internet world.
The Red vs. Blue web series they started holds a special place for us, but the company that runs this convention is more than just one show to us by now. Inspiration in many forms converge at conventions, but after that first encounter two years ago with the one started by Roosterteeth, we all decided right then and there that we would go back every year to get away as a family before the school year started up again. (Bonus that it took us right by Grandma's town!)
Over the following year, we began exploring some of the costuming fun that we witnessed the first year, and put together some costumes of our own for the next event. The convention we attended in costume last year was a new level of enjoyment for us as we made many people smile, and we fully intend to suit up and encourage those smiles again.
This year, however, is in jeopardy. Income tax let us down this year, and left us with the hope that simply saving money would do the trick. As life goes, saving money turned into tooth extractions and utility bills paired with lower paychecks. Although we do have a couple hundred saved, it's looking less and less like the enjoyable weekend I originally pulled off.
I was strongly encouraged to make a campaign here before I change any plans. So as hard as it is for me to do so, here I am.
