Annabel's GB Youth Bobsleigh Fund
Donation protected
Two years ago I'd never done bobsleigh and now I'm in the amazing position to have the chance to compete at the Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer in February 2016.
I was selected to compete in the 2014/2015 season and raced in 3 international monobob races in Lillehammer, Konigssee and St Moritz; where I placed 2nd, 4th and 1st respectively. This resulted in me being ranked as the Women's World Number One.
Unfortuantely the GB Youth team operates on a very basic funding programme. This, and the fact that we are a country without a bobsleigh track, means we are unable to train abroad as often as we would like and really need to, putting us at a disadvantage when compared to many other countries.
How will your money help?
Any money I can personally contribute from this fund raising will help me and the rest of the team hugely because it means more money towards travel expenses, equipment, accomodation and training. It will help maximise my chances, along with my fellow athletes, in achieving our goal of reaching the Winter Youth Olympics and perfoming well there.
