Kelly's Rockin' Mission

What CAN’T I say about Kelly?!!? Most of us know her from her high energy, positive attitude, great sense of humor, Infectious Smile and Contagious Laugh.   She is one of the most generous, patient, understanding and hardworking people I have ever known. Whatever she does, she does it with such dedication and passion. She volunteers her time to several charities, and quick to help others financially whenever it has been possible.  Kelly is the first person to say “How may I help you?”; “Are you alright?”; “I’ll do it”; “No problem!” and her catch phrase “I’ve got this”. She is always quick with a compliment or word of encouragement. 

What some may not know about her, is that behind that great big smile and boisterous laugh, is a pretty sick lady. She has been battling a rare form of soft tissue bone cancer for quite a few years, and while being treated for it, she contracted a secondary form of cancer, Leukemia.  During treatment for both it was also discovered that she has a blood clotting disorder known as Factor V Leiden thrombophilia, which causes the blood to clot, which makes the treatment of the other two tricky. To know her and to see her, you would never know how sick she is, as she does a great job of masking and covering it up. There is a couple of us that she has let “behind the curtain”, to see what she goes through on a daily basis, how she does it with a smile on her face and a skip in her step astonishes me!  She is one of the strongest people I have ever met. 

One thing I have never heard her ask….is for HELP.

 After a visit to the hospital last week she was informed she needs to undergo another surgery.  Insurance doesn’t cover everything, and the bills from all the treatments, medications, CAT Scans, MRI’s, doctor visits, surgeries, and hospital stays, etc. really adds up and adds a lot of stress to an already stressful situation. As long as I have known her, she has worked multiple jobs to try to stay on top of all of the various medical expenses.

Since she won’t ask for help, I am starting this page and reaching out to those that know her and love her just as much as I do to help raise funds for her current, past and upcoming medical expenses. I want her to know, WE KNOW, she’s “Got this!” but she doesn’t have to do it alone!  Kel, Let us help ease some of the burden off of you! We love you!
