Zach Elliott Memorial Scholarship

The Zach Elliott Memorial Scholarship was established to remember the life of a great man, son, brother and friend. Zach passed away unexpectedly in 2018 at the age of 24.
Zach graduated from Nipomo High School in 2012 and California State University at Chico in 2017. The award will recognize a Nipomo High School Student who shares Zach's love of performing and his passion for helping others. The family's intent is that the recipient
will be inspired in their own life and will want to make a difference in in the lives of others because of how Zach lived.
Zach discovered his love for drama while doing Destination Imagination at Dana Elementary School in Nipomo. He then went on to Mesa Middle School and Nipomo High School Drama with Mrs. Metchik. He loved the stage; performing, singing and being larger than life. He was so proud the day his picture went up in Olympic Hall at Nipomo High.
Zach was a remarkable person and constant source of pride to his family. He has been described by others as a bright light and a breath of fresh air. He looked for the good in every situation and wanted people around him to be happy.
Zach loved all sports. He played Volleyball for 4 years at Nipomo High. He was a die-hard SF Giants fan and has been to two World Series. He was a history buff and one of those people who knew a little something about everything. He loved all music genres and went to concerts as often as he could. He still believed in hand-written thank you notes and seeing the good in all people.
If Zach could give you advice, it would be to do your best at whatever you choose to do in life but definitely enjoy the ride!
