Zac Schneider was assaulted while riding his bicycle on September 9, 2015. He has no memory of the incident. He was riding his bicycle home from band practice and the next thing he remembers is being loaded into an ambulance. His bicycle was stolen and there were no witnesses and no area traffic/security cameras.

He was taken by ambulance to a Level I Trauma Center in Minneapolis where it was found that he suffered multiple, severe injuries. His jaw is broken in two places, his nose is broken in two places, his skull is fractured, he had a mild brain bleed, he is missing 4 teeth and required 22 stitches on his lip, face and inside his mouth. He has damage to his throat and vocal cords. He will require follow-up treatment at the Traumatic Brain Injury Center, surgery to repair his jaw, which will require it to be wired shut for 2-3 weeks, and extensive dental work to replace his teeth.

Zac is 22 years old. While he does have insurance, there is a deductible, copays and much of his treatment will require co-insurance and some will likely not be covered at all (some dental). He will not be able to return to work for at least 4 weeks, depending on the results of his TBI consult. He will need additional time off while his teeth are repaired. He has no vacation/sick leave.

Zac is an aspiring artist. He does commissioned work and is working on opening an online store to sell his prints. He is a musician. He has played guitar and bass in several bands. He will be unable to play for awhile while he heals.

Zac lives with Rachael, who has been instrumental in support and caring for him. She will not be able to pay all of their combined bills on her own while he heals. Additionally, she will need to take much time off to take him to and from Dr. appointments, as he is unable to drive while on medication and until he is released from the TBI Center.

Any money you can spare to help them offset his uncovered medical and living expenses while he recovers would be GREATLY appreciated.
