Help Buddy's Cancer Bills!

Donation protected
2 weeks after moving into a wonderful new apartment, my very beloved cat Buddy, a 13 year old lump of love, suddenly stopped eating and became lethargic. We feared it was maybe an intestinal blockage, but we were note prepared for the news we recieved. After an exam, a lump was found in his abdomen. Further testing via an ultrasound and biopsy confirmed my worst fears: cancer.

Buddy has an uncommon form of cancer, with it either being hemophagocytic histiocytic sarcoma, or hemangiosarcoma (less likely). It is more often found in dogs, and while slow growing, is extremely aggresive. Once it metasticizes to another organ, it is almost always fatal, with those who survive having a very small remission time. Three tumors were found, confirming that Buddy will not survive this, even with aggresive treatment.

I struggle to find the words to describe Buddy, and often others don't understand why I love him so much. We rescued Buddy from a poor situation at the age of seven, bringing him into a loving home with no fear of being hurt or abandoned. We have cherished him for all his time with us, and Buddy moved with me when I left my parent's house for the big world, even coming with me across state lines.

Buddy has never met anyone he cannot love. He enjoys nothing more than to cuddle up close and purr loudly. His love for food knows no bounds, and he has learned the words "breakfast", "dinner" and "treat", but which happy chirrups and acks will be heard as he follows you to the kitchen. He talks in a kitten voice, even though he is a rather large cat.

What he has done best is love. And love me. He has helped me heal through extremely rough times. He has never left my side, through every tear and sob. He has distracted me from pain, and lead me to the light. He has helped me fight depression and anxiety, and kept me here. And I cannot thank him enough for that. And I want to show him my thanks for everything he has done for me.

Unfortunately, vet bills aren't cheap. The testing has cost me $900, which is extremely steep when making only enough to cover our own costs, and there is still medication to keep him comfortable. It has wiped out my savings and left me struggling. But all I want to do is spoil him. Feed him the best wild caught salmon, and take him on trips outside. Complete his bucket list.

This is for Buddy's bucket list. So I can spend as much time with him, doing everythign we can together, until that final moment when we say goodbye and he crosses the Rainbow Bridge.

I appreciate any help, in any form. Every cent goes towards his bills, and towards loving him. I hope to someday pay back all the kindness that those have shown me. Thank you, everyone.
