Help My Transition

Hi all!

My name is Em Kelley.  I am a 27 year old Transgender Woman. I am married to the love of my life who has supported me in coming to accept and embrace my identity. I also have an amazing 18 month old son.  I am a seminarian at Chicago Theological Seminary seeking to be ordained in the UCC

2015 has been a major year for me as it is the year that I finally embraced me and began living my life authentically. 

Unfortunately that is not always easy, and it is not cheap. I do not have a lot of extra money at this point in my life. I have been very lucky that a lot of friends have already donated conversation, clothes, makeup, and loving energy.

I am hoping that friends, family, and anoymous strangers may consider donating to help cover my transition expenses.  I would like to breakdown somewhat of what the $5,000 Goal would mean.

$400ish: Name Change and looking into birth certificate change, as well as to cover all the postage that will be involved in processing my name change.

$2000-$2500: Hair removal. I have done some laser and am looking at either doing more laser hair removal or potentially electrolysis.

The Remaining Money: Voice Training Instruction, Therapy Costs, Clothes, etc...

$500 : Administrative- GoFundMe does charge

Anything over $5,000 would be amazing and go towards any additional costs that will likely be part of my transition.
