Hi, I'm Loren Mattern: currently a sophomore in high school. I'm raising money so I can go to Brown University's Pre-College Summer Program . I would like to go into the field of business in the future and being a part of this program will help me successfully do so. I constantly yearn for success: looking at IVY League colleges, business programs, and looking for scholarships. Basically, I'm always planning for the future, and I love it.
Here's an example of my calendar; I'm doing the most I can with with the tools I have.
The costs of going to this program are hefty and that is why I'm asking for help. The application is $50, the deposit is $300, the overall cost for the venture is $3886 , and a round-trip ticket is estimated to be $838: this comes to a total of $4724. The reason I'm asking to reach my goal of $1200 is because I've received a full ride schoalrship for the program, but I still need to pay for the round trip flight & I need to be prepared for any unexpected expenses. My family brings in much less than this per month, so without help there's no way I would be able to go.
As I said, I want to go into business in the future and their Econometrics course could help me get on track. It's not all about experience though, it's about getting into the environment I want to be in. Everyday when I'm working my hardest in class I remind myself it's all for something; everyday I'm working towards being in an IVY League college.
Some kids dream about being famous; I dream about being a successful grad from an IVY and leading the business world.
Just thinking about the possibility of actually being able to go on the campus gets me all kinds of excited. I don't know how to describe in words how grateful I would be if I was financially capable of going . It's sad how today we are so limited to our dreams because of money, but that's how our world works. My heart is actually in my throat as I'm writing this, if that can explain to you just how much this means to me. Attending an IVY League college will forever be my dream, and if I know there's something even remotely helpful for getting accepted, I'll work my hardest towards it.
I don't know what tastes better anymore: Moonie's Ice Cream or the word "success" flowing off the tip off my tongue.
Econometrics . That's the course I would like to take, as I said earlier. The course teaches us how to use statistics and how to organize data to find probability. I believe this could not only assist me in the future, but also right now. See, I'm planning a charitable organization called J.A.C.K. which stands for Just A Couple Kids. They idea is to get kids in the community, that want to make a difference, united. I believe in the strength of numbers, and we can all make a bigger difference when there are more people involved. I have already planned out a couple events that we could initiate ASAP with the contacts I've gained. Econometrics can help identify the best course of action. By understanding the workings of statistics, I could more easily bring success for J.A.C.K. and a true difference could be made.

There are so many things I could gain from this experience, and that's why I need your help to go. I cannot afford this on my own, so I'm asking for assistance. Please help me get on track to making my future a successful one.
