Dear Partner and Community Event Supporter:

This summer of 2015, community builders, Sameth Mell & Baron You representing Rajana Society and Che Sehyun representing Experience Education, will be bringing their activism globally. Mell, and Sehyun have both been accepted along with a cohort of 35 Khmer Americans to embark on a journey conceptualized as “A Cambodia Journey 2015 (ACJ2015).” ACJ2015 promotes the opportunity for service learning components with the most vulnerable children populations on the streets of Cambodia, in the capital city of Phnom Penh and the city of Siem Reap, through collaborations with the YMCA in Cambodia. This project is made possible through the leadership of Bob Cabeza and the YMCA of Long Beach California.

Through this two-week immersion program with “street children” in Cambodia, participants learn the language, culture, understand the inter-sections of a globalized world, and build relationships with the children.

Mell, Sehyun, and You’s ability to secure their position on this journey will be made possible through the support and generosity of individuals, businesses and organizations - such as yourself - who believe in sharing cultures, promoting diversity, global peace work, inter-cultural dialogues and community engagement. Through this program, Mell, You and Sehyun hope to continue to spark conversations around the impact of arts, civic engagement, education, globalization, hip-hop, and social justice.

Thank you for your support and generosity!
