I know this is a lot, but we can do it.
This house was built in 1912 by James Cornwall and is one of Edmonton’s historic homes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a historical designation and could be sold to developers who could tear it down for higher-density development.
What I’m asking for Edmontonians, is to gather together and kick in a few bucks ($5 is all I'm asking) to help keep this house alive and kicking. This house should have a historical designation, but it does not. Once it receives a historical designation, it would be eligible for grants, which could be used to help repair the damage that has been caused from years of living.
Ultimately, it would be great to have this house be owned by a non-profit that provided a retreat for authors and artists to work on building works of cultural significance which tell our story, Edmonton’s story. However, if the money is raised, I’m open to ideas. If enough money isn’t raised, the money will be donated to The Stollery Children’s Hospital.
