Museum of the Great Depression

Donation protected
Opening its doors in 1931, the old hospital served the builders of the Hoover Dam and their families until 1973. The hospital is pivital to Boulder City, NV's national historic district; the building itself is placed on the NRHP. This landmark structure is not only vital to the history of the community, as our historic charm is the major tourism factor in the community. Furthermore, the structure is a vestige to an important era in our history, the Great Depression and FDR's New Deal. Not to mention, the largest civil engineering projection in our nation's history, up to that point. The site could easily be restored as a cultural center and museum to benefit the members of the community and the nation as a whole.

The proposed museum, honoring the history of the Great Depression would be the first of its kind, and offer a center for the study of this important and underappreciated era in our history. It will not only serve the local community, but the nation as a whole. Your support can help make this vision a reality, rehabilitating this historic landmark to benefit the public good for generations to come.

Our first and most crucial step is to secure the building and save it from imminent demolition.

Time is of the essence. Please show your support.
