Help me gain mobility

I am a domestic abuse survivor. I got tired of being abused and filed for divorce from my first husband.  To retaliate my ex-husband broke into my home, shot me in the back, and then beat me for several hours.  The bullet broke my right hip, ricocheted to the left and lodged in the nerve bundle that controls my right leg.   It's still in place as my Doctors are afraid they'd do more damage removing it than leaving it in place.

I have five chronic sources of pain as a result of this.  I have tremendous problems walking since the bullet strike resulted in a  degenerative hip disease.  Despite that, I don't qualify for an electric chair on my Medicare.  Since I'm on disability now I don't have the money to buy a scooter for myself. 

Not having an electric chair or scooter limits what I can do to a great extent.  It keeps me home bound and it keeps me from doing things that I always wanted to do but was kept from doing by my ex-husband.  Being stuck in the house all the time is very depressing and keeps me cut off from the world.
