Hello Heros! Meet baby Christian who needs your help! Christian has had a rough start to his amazing life. Luckily he has fantastic parents, family members, friends, and generous donors to help support and encourage him and his family during this distressful time. After Christian was born, he was hospitalized for high bilirubin levels,low blood sugar, and high sodium. His levels were remaining stable until week 7 when he had to be hospitalized again for extremely high sodium levels. While this super strong little man’s body went through lab tests and examinations, he showed gallstones, was diagnosed with diabetes insipidus and hypopituitarism, which causes his body to not make several different hormones. He will be on hormone replacement medications for the rest of his life. Christian had to undergo a blood transfusion due to the several labs they were having to take around the clock to regulate his high sodium levels and adjust his hormone medications. After an MRI was done they also found 2 cysts in his brain. Most recently, they were told his optic nerves are smaller than normal. They are waiting for the ophthalmologist to see him. When he is able to go home, he will have to report for an ultrasound once a week to monitor the cysts in the brain. Christian is currently still in the hospital. Christian’s parents are both hard working individuals with full time jobs, but after maternity and vacation time were used the parents are not having any income while they are at the children’s hospital with their son. Rent, utility bills, expenses such as gas and food are piling up along with outrageously high medical bills that keep coming in.
