Hi,
I'm Aiden Page from Swindon. I am 18 years old and just been through 7 weeks of auditions for conservatoires, universities and performing arts colleges. After several disappointments from my top schools and having to make changes of plan to study else where. Last night (07/03/2017), I was lucky enough to gain an offer from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (Started by Sir Paul McCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty RNOM OBE) for their 22 place foundation degree course.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to access funding for this course (academic year: 2017/2018). Coming from a normal working family, the living costs will be out of our reach. I'm raising money so I can attend LIPA which would help me to achieve my degree, professional work and being able to pass my knowledge onto future generations.
I feel it is important to inspire young people as they need to have the ability to find theirselves within this world. Teaching has been with me since a young age, as I was teaching Martial Arts since the age of 10 when I gained an assistant instructor role within the school. Also within my scouting, since the age of 6. I have shared knowledge throughout each section of the organisation, especially as a qualified young leader, helping cubs and scouts. The most important factor is teaching and choreographing dance over the last couple of years. Teaching brings me enjoyment and inspiration as you know that you're helping others make their dreams come true. If I can make myself better then hopefully, I will be able to help others better
The performing arts has always interested me since a young age and I would be overjoyed if I had the opportunity to perform in the industry. I've found this to be a outlet as I've been a young career for many years for my mum and my younger brother. My younger brother has Global Developmental Delay, this effects him in every aspect of his daily life and us as a family. I know it will be hard for me to leave home but with the support from my family and friends, I need to follow my aspirations. Over the past years, I studied many techniques including: Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap, Lyrical, International Dance and Modern.
I am so thankful for all the teachers and peers that I've had over the years for giving their knowledge, time and trust. Another thank-you for everyone who has been apart of this journey especially my family and my friends. However small the donation is, I will be appreciative of your belief in me and my performing arts education.
