Lauren Fajardo (Lulu) was born with a congenital heart defect.
In 2010, at age 10 she had her first heart transplant. In November 2012, her heart started to fail and on March 7, 2013, at age 13, she had her 2nd heart transplant.
At age 15, she's been recently readmitted to Phoenix Children's Hospital on June 18, 2015 with signs of rejection. She has undergone serveral rounds of plasmapheresis (a machine removes the plasma that is infected with antibodies and replaces it with good plasma), photopheresis treatment, kidney dialysis, and has been assisted with life support all since that day. This Wednesday she will undergo a total artificial heart surgery as she waits to get relisted for another transplant.
My name is Maria Love and I have known Victoria, Lauren's older sister, and the family for 10+ years. I have created this page with permission from the Fajardo's to help Lauren through prayer, support, and financial contributions towards her staggering medical bills.
