St. Matthews School Playground

Nothing beats the memories of childhood play on the school yard. Watching your own children delight in the navigation of a spiral slide or climbing a brightly covered stairway creates memories which last a lifetime. Play is the work of children. According to Albert Einstein, “Play is the highest form of research."

The St. Matthews Catholic School facility and programs have been made possible by those before us. A longtime parishioner, Paul Mahla, shared his thoughts saying, "When my children went to school here, the families of the parish and school had made an investment in Catholic education already. We had the advantage of a top notch facility and academic program, available for our children. Now is the time we do the same for those who follow us. " 

It is time to replace the large playground equipment of the school. We have researched the most competitive bids for the best quality and developmentally excellent equipment for our children.

We plan on providing a new, multi-level unit for children ages 5 to 12, with challenging vertical climbs, playground slides, and ramps with activities along with the way in a modern aesthetic design.

The cost to purchase and install a unit of this size and quality is $30,000-$40,000. Through the generous donation of the PTO and several individual donors, we have collected $8,000 date.

To make this investment in our students' physical and social education, we ask for your help.  Make a commitment to making memories for the children. Every dollar counts and no donation is too small.

As echoed by past and current families and students of the school, our successes have been made possible because of the contributions of time and talent, and the generosity of many.
