Hi! My name is J/Jay/Jenna and I'm a mentally ill demisexual trans person living in a poor housing condition. You may have known me by my prior url u-ok on tumblr.
I used gofundme back in December to help me go visit my boyfriend in Arizona. Back then, I had thought that I was to be attending college at Arizona State University as I was accepted into there in Fall of 2015. However, in Feburary, my mother told me I can't go because of money.
But here's the deal.
My mother and my Step-dad (more on him later) spend, at least, 15 thousand dollars on vacation a year. My mother goes to Florida with her friends every 3 months, so 4 times a year. Here's the most recent ones, taken from here "checked in" places on facebook.
They also take 1 to two cruises a year. They have also refused to buy my medication (type 1 bipolar, severe anxiety) and/or the therapy I need due to "expenses", evne after several suicide attempts.
But they haven't saved one penny for my college career. or my mental health.
My mom herself isn't all that bad. She does the thing though where she sides my shitty stepdad all the time.
My step-father is a homo+transphobic, racist, conservative piece of trash. He has threaten to kick me out several times for defending Ferguson /Charleston /ect and has broguht up (very loudly) that if I ever said I was trans or not straight I would be kicked out "so fast." My mom has never once defended me or my identity. She is actually turning into a transphobic and homophobic person very slowly. So this is a very scary situation for me.
I have taken emotional and mental abuse from them for 10 years. I lived with my grandmother and grandfather until I was 8, and then I was forced to move in with them.
Now, you're probably wondering why I need so much money.
My mom and I came up with a solution to my college dilemma.
I am going to move to Arizona (BY MYSELF), rent an apartment, work for a whole year and not go to school (and obtain my residency), then go to community college, then on to ASU to become the psychology teacher I know I can be!
In order to move, I need money, right? My mom has very reluctantly agreed to help me move all my stuff and help a little with rent. A thousand dollars would supply me with around 2 months rent while I find jobs (yes, more than one.) and hopefully will help me with at least some food (ramen is only 29 cents LOL) and would help me so so much,
I hope to move by August 15th or 16th because im not sure how much longer I can take this.
I am currently looking online for studio apartments around the Pheonix/Scottsdale area. Most of them are 550-650 dollars a month. If you know any cheap places, let me know!
Everyone dollar will help me get away from here and to somewhere where I can start over and finally be happy and get the help I need.
