This account has been set up for the Ortiz family who have lost everything due to the fire that destoyed their condominium on June 19th in Damascus.
Barbara is a single mother of 3 boys (only Phillip lives at home with her). She is dedicated to her children and grandchildren, but has had her share of difficulties. Last year, her son Phillip lost his Father to cancer. During that same month she had a pulmonary embollisim (double blood clot in her lungs) that almost killed her. She had to have emergency surgery to try to get that under control. Prior to that she was diagnosed with a Deep Vein Thrombosis (blood clot) in her leg.....again this was a dire situation. She has since undergone genetic testing and has found out that she has the gene that pre-disposes her to getting these blood clots. Thank God she has not had another blood clot in over a year! Unfortunately, she also has a long history of MRSA and has been hospitalized and treated on multiple occasions to try to erradicate it. However, while going through all of these extremely difficult health issues, she has manged to take care of Phillip, help with her grandchildren, and to also reach out to others in need. She has lost practically everything in this fire. So, once again, she has another set back that she must overcome. That being said, God has allowed her to survive through all of her health issues and I know that He is faithful and will do the same again!
So, we are asking, if you are able, to please donate to her GoFundMe account so that she and Phillip can get begin to rebuild their lives. When you lose everything, anything helps, and all funds donated will go directly to the family.
