Donation protected

We (International Community Dynamics) have teamed up wit the scouts movement in Burundi  to raise fundsto organise a Christmas party for the many street children in Bujumbura.

Who we are.

We are an international organisation that fights for the rights of children and other disadvantaged communities, such as people with a disability, refugees, war victims and victims of natural disasters.
Planned activities
To support and educate unaccompanied children to help them to regain their rights

Beneficiaries and target of the project
Unaccompanied children have been unable to continue their education because of the several tragedies that Burundi has endured since 1993, and still ongoing.
Some of them have become street children, while others have been forced to be exploited by merciless adults, doing hard labour to survive.

The amount of street children in Bujumbura is growing by the day since 2015 when the president of the republic of Burundi decided to stay in power, in violation of the constitution which does not allow more then two terms of presidency. This has resulted in the protests by the population, followed by horrible assassinations of the opposition and of everyone suspected of having participated in the protest movement against the illegal mandate, Up to now, 3000 deaths have been registered, together with 8000 prisoners and 500 disappeared, as well as 450,000 people who fled the country. There have been numerous reports of torture and gender based violence by certain police men and by the militia of the presidential party.
Partners
International Community Dynamics has teamed up with the Scouts of Burundi who have a lot of experience in working with communities

Planned Activities
1. In Burundi (and later in other African countries)

• To organise a Christmas dinner for 60 to 80 street children of Bujumbura. Christmas is a day that every child celebrates with his or her parents, but for these children the parents have either died, become victims of horrible torture, are imprisoned or have disappeared.
• To start a psycho-social approach to begin an integration system, bring them together, and accompany them to school

2. In Ireland

• To organise a celebration of the International Day of the African Child
• Framing of a socio-cultural event to support asylum seekers and to enforce the intercultural integration of immigrants.
