Liam's Dream Fund

We all know someone that has been through tough times but the last thing you want to hear is that someone you know has cancer.

On 4th July 2014 a lovely, beautiful family close to us received the unimaginable news that their 21 year old son ‘Liam Buckley’ had terminal bowel cancer, which has since spread to his liver and lungs.

Despite his cancer Liam went on and graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Liam was hoping to further his education but sadly he can no longer continue with this.

Liam has endured 11 months of aggressive chemotherapy, various operations and numerous medications and throughout it all he always has a smile on his face and is always so positive.

To be faced with such a tragic challenge at such a young age is heartbreaking but Liam always keeps his and his family’s spirit high, his smile is infectious and I know his family are so proud of him.

Liam now 22 is one of the nicest, caring and kind hearted young men you could meet, the strength, courage and bravery Liam has showed during his illness has been an inspiration to everyone.

During his illness Liam has dedicated his time to helping raise money for ‘Weston Park cancer hospital’ which stands at nearly £6,000.

It would be so nice to help give something back to Liam personally, just this week Liam and his family received more devastating news that Liam’s cancer is no longer responding to any treatment.

Having days out and things to look forward to is very important; in January 2015 Liam had an amazing day when he took part in the ‘Pilot for a day’ program courtesy of RAF Lakenheath. Liam got to experience first hand what a typical day is like for the pilots of a fighter jet and a rescue helicopter, by the pilots of RAF Lakenheath donating a couple of hours of their time they helped to provide Liam with a truly unforgettable day.

I hope this page will enable us to help raise some funds for Liam so we can give Liam and his family some precious days out or even a week’s holiday together so they can have some quality time and create some magical memories.

Every donation is a blessing, with your generosity we can help make some of Liam’s wishes possible and help make some of Liam’s dreams a reality.

The love and support from his family and friends is truly inspiring, if we can all help even just a small fraction can contribute to providing Liam and his family with creating special memories and special times that they can cherish forever.

Please can I ask that everyone who reads this helps in any way they can and to please share this page with all your friends and family, I really hope all the community can get behind this, let’s do something amazing for Liam.
