Bandit's Leg Surgery

Donation protected
So Bandit is my 1yr old Catahoula mix.  On Labor Day he got bitten at the dog park and received a pretty deep wound to his leg.  I took him to our vet, where they cleaned it and wrapped it up.  They suggested scheduling an appointment to have it stapled.

Later that night I ended up having to take him to the emergency vet because it wouldn't stop bleeding through the bandages. After an hour and a half of waiting, they called me in and told me that it had clotted nicely and that he didn't need stitches, it would only be more of a hassle and make the wound bigger to cut it out in order to stitch it up.  They /could/, but they assured me it would be perfectly fine as-is, it would just be an extra week of keeping it bandaged compared to how long the stitches would take.  They re-wrapped him and gave me some additional medications for him.
I wish I would have said no.  I wish I would have said "I came here to get stitches, now put them in."

Two days later, I see Bandit curled up in a ball, shaking.  He never shakes.  This is a dog who is constantly running around, hyper as heck, didn't even act hurt until now, and every time I'd change his bandages he'd sit perfectly still and behave.  This time he pulled away.  I finally got the bandages off to see that what had started as a healthy pink color was now a "day-old-raw-tuna" looking reddish brown.  I rushed him to the vet, where they confirmed that it was indeed infected.

After several hours they gave me the verdict that he would need surgery.  At this point, to sedate him, cleanse the infected tissue, suture up the inside and then the outside (it's too deep to only close the top without leaving an abscess), and then send a culture to the lab, the cost would be between $700-$900.

Now, these last three visits cost about $450 just for bandages and medication.  Half of that money I already had to borrow.  There is no scenario in which I can afford to pay that kind of money all at once, and they don't do incremented billing.  Even if you can't donate, then please pray.  If you don't pray, then maybe just keep us in your thoughts or send positive energy our way.  I just want my baby to get better.

If for some reason I make and/or exceed my goal, any leftover funds will be donated to the Savannah Humane Society.
