LONDON’S PULSE SPIN STUDIO GETS READY TO GIVEAWAY MORE FREE BIKES
Community charity event, back by popular demand, the 2nd annual BIG BIKE GIVEAWAY happens this October. Organizers in major need of support to make this happen!
WHY IS PULSE GIVING AWAY BIKES?
“It is our mandate to encourage others to cycle as a mode of transportation. This responsibility includes teaching the community about bicycle and road safety, and ensuring that we do all that we can do to give those less fortunate an opportunity to cycle.” says owner and operator, Shayne Hodgson. “Through our research, we found that people needed bikes to get to work and school for various reasons.” Pulse Spin Studio is ramping up for their 2nd annual Big Bike Giveaway, where on one specific day in October, bicycles will be given away for free to people in need in our community!
WHY IS PULSE SOLICITING SUPPORT?
Last year Pulse Spin Studio gave away over 100 FREE bicycles to the community, including to some exceptional people from Community Living London and the South West Centre (SJHC). Those bicycles were donated by community members and repaired solely by the studio owner. This year, Pulse has not been lucky enough to collect as many bikes on their own…so they need your help! “We are aiming to collect as many used, working bicycles as we can, by the end of September. In addition, we are calling out to London and area businesses to provide monetary donations so we can purchase 50-80 more low-cost bikes for the event.” says Hodgson. Community partners from last year’s event were Lululemon, Old South Business Association, TREA, Ken Jones Signs and First Cycleworks. They will be asked once again to participate in this grand public event. More groups will be requested to partake such as MEC, Old South Community Organization, SHIFT, Middlesex Health Unit and the YMCA in Wortley Village. WHO CAN HAVE A FREE BIKE?
The entire community of London is welcome to stop by the event (details to be announced soon) and get sized up for a free bike that fits them. The concept is simple, first-come-first-serve and there will only be one bike issued to each person. You must be in attendance to receive a bike.
