Funeral Cost for Husband and Son

Donation protected
Yesterday evening (June 16, 2015) tragedy struck a family who had already lost so much.  John (Jay) Lyons was on his way into work on the backroads of Sullivan Missouri when his car was overturned by a flash flood.  He lost his life that evening in the swells of Hamilton Creek.  Getting a knock on the door from the police officer to inform you of your loss has to be one of the most difficult situations one could be put in.  Sadly, Nancy Lyons had to experience another dreaded knock only a few weeks prior to this.

20 days before the death of her husband came the loss of her beloved son, Jason Stewart.  He was involved in a head on car accident that claimed his life and another.  He was only 38 years old.  Still grieving the loss of her son, Nancy and her daughter Roxanne have now been catapulted into more tragedy.

While we cannot turn back time or take away the pain that these losses have brought this family, we can help lessen their financial burden.  They are not the type of people to ask for financial assistance, but they are in great need.

Jay was a hardworking man and he did his best to support his family financially.  As they grieve for the love that was lost, they are also faced with financial burdens weighing down on them.  The funeral for Jason had to be financed and payments on it have only just started.  Valhalla Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, a funeral home in St. Louis, graciously cut their costs in half to help them give Jay a proper funeral, but the family wonders how they will pay for it at even that price.  Beyond funeral costs, the family is also faced with the reality that both of their cars are now totaled.  This family is hurting in so many ways right now.  If you are not in a financial struggle, I ask that you help by taking some of the weight of the funeral costs from them.  If you are unable to support financially, please help them with your prayers.  Pray that God will keep them faithful and will give them strength during these dark days.  Please also share this story with others.  Every dollar and every prayer count.  Thank you, and may God bless you.

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Stephanie Spellazza and I am from St. Louis Missouri. My parents, Brenda an Steve Grimmer, wanted to do something to help my Aunt Nancy (from Sullivan Missouri) who is facing finacial difficulty after loosing both her husband Jay Lyons and Jason Stewart during two different tragic events. They were talking to me about how they wished there was a way they could set up a fundrasier and I mentioned gofundme to them. Because they weren't sure how to set up an account, I took on that responsibility. Since this account has been set up, a car has been donated to the family! The money raised by this website will be used to pay the funeral expenses for both Jay and Jason. When the check is recieved from gofundme, it will go directly to the funeral homes so that the family will not be in debt and can focus on paying for their everyday living expenses without the steady income they once had.
