Hello my name is Olaya i have been living in the UK for more than 12 years, i work as a nursery nurse , i am originally from Chile.
Last month i hear the devastating news that the son of a dear friend, who is a single mum, is suffering from acute lymphoid leukaemia and since the cancer has develop quickly he is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant to save his life.
Unfortunately, the health system in Chile does not work as in the UK and families are faced with the enourmous challenge to need to raise the money to pay the treatment, which is extremely expensive, on their own. Domingo's treatment is not different. The total cost of his treatment, including chemotherapy drugs and radiotheraphy , bone marrow transplant, a year period of recovery after the operation where he will have to stay in the capital away from home , since the treatment is only available in the capital Santiago, is around £180,000.
For all the reason expose about we will really appreciate your help. We are organizing a sponsor walk on July 25th were, as a family, we will walk 7.5 miles to raise money to save Domingo's life.
As a mum thinking that my own child got cancer must be unbearable but what must be worst is knowing that you can not afford a treatment to save his life. This is the reason why we kidnly ask you for any donation, to help us save Domingo. Muchas Gracias.
