it's been a while since I've shared an update with you all, so here it is! First off, thank you all so much again for all the help, it's been amazing, and a large weight off my shoulder.

My progress has been great! my walking is practically normal, a little weak and wobbly at times, kinda like a baby giraffe, but for the most part you wouldn't know!
The pain is also far less than it was, my doctor did up my Gabapentin to 1200mg 3 times a day, but I barely use the Dilaudid any more because there isn't much extra pain. The Gabapentin is for nerve pain. If I didn't use it, because of nerve damage, my skin is very painful and the lightest touch burns. It's getting better though!

I still have a few numb areas on my legs, back and left hip, and I get some nerve spurts of pain that feels like bug stings, but I like to think that means my nerves are coming back to life. I see my neurosurgeon on Monday, so I will see what he has to say. I also get to see X-rays of my robo-back!

I can't wait to get back to work, but I still have a hard time standing for long periods of time, and it's really hard to pick things up from the ground over 10lbs.
Other than that, things are looking great!

My friends in the band Motion City Soundtrack have been an amazing help as well. They (along with Shirts for a Cure) made an awesome benefit shirt for me which you can get here: http://wonkybonkers.tumblr.com/post/26856356762/keepabreast-jessicaxmaria

There is a also a benefit concert in Milwaukee on Oct 7 with Motion City Soundtrack! for more info, go here: http://therave.com/concert_details.asp?id=4736

Thank you again everyone for all the help! I can't say it enough. I wish all the best for you as well.

Thank you so much again everyone! I wish the best luck on all of you for being so kind. Here's an update on how I'm doing:
last week I saw my rehab doctor and he upped my Gabapentin medication that I'm taking, because nerves around my back, waist and legs got messed up. Those nerves make my skin hurt in those areas, kinda like a really bad sunburn, it hurts when anything lightly touches me, even the clothes I wear hurts. Thankfully that medication that they gave me helps a TON.

Today I saw my neurosurgeon. He showed me my X-rays of my broken back, and the ones they took today. It's crazy to see the pins and the spacer that they put in my spine. I wish I would've taken a picture, Maybe when I see him again in August I can.

He told me I am healing really well and I don't have to wear my back brace anymore. It feels really weird not wearing it. I kind of feel a little more pain with it off, I'm not sure why.

Thank's to all of you, I'm setting up my Physical Therapy appointments! I'm excited to work with them again.

Thank you again! I can't thank you enough!

Wow! Thank you everyone so much! this is amazing!! Today I connected with MusiCares to apply for help as well and it looks very promising. Hopefully my goal number will be extremely smaller! If somehow I amazingly end up with extra money at the end of this, I will donate it to someone else here on this gofundme site that is struggling with medical bills. Thank you for being amazing and helping out a friend (or stranger) in need.

On May 27, I went out for a ride on my Harley. I unfortunately came upon an extremely sharp curve in the road that I was unable to control. Next thing I knew, I was laying in a ditch telling my friend Chris to call 911.
I ended up with a compression fracture on my L2 vertebrae (basically it exploded when I landed in the ditch) and some scratches on my spinal cord.
I was wearing all of my safety gear, helmet, gloves, boots, armored jacket, therefore I had no other injuries, not even a bruise.
I do have health insurance, but it turns out that my limits for what they pay are very low, I haven't gotten the final bill yet, but I've already gotten several bills that add up to far over $300,000. It almost doesn't seem real seeing bills that high.
I don't like asking people for money, but I am unable to work and drive myself anywhere, so I have no income coming in, and I don't even know how I'm going to pay my normal bills besides this tragedy. Anything you can donate will help me a lot, even if it's $1. Thank you so much for helping me out, It means a great deal to me.
