Bianca Simone Vonleh and Kettianne Magnus Cadet NEED YOUR HELP organizing a series of professional development seminars for women who identify themselves as minorities from Boston urban communities. The program will be open to 18-30 year olds and the topics will vary from (but not limited to) personal branding, networking tactics and financial literacy.
Why?
Last year, Kettianne was selected to serve as a Fulbright-Clinton Public Policy Fellow and placed to work in Haiti's Ministry of Women's Affairs, where she focused a lot on women empowerment, in addition to other projects regarding gender equality, conflict resolution and gender based violence. So this year, she wanted to bring some of that work home, to Boston. Kettianne along with Bianca and her company Bianca Simone Event Productions wanted to create a forum where women (who face similar unspoken barriers at the workplace) who wish to improve their leadership and professional skills can come together to connect, to learn and to inspire one another to advance towards their goals. The series is called Women with Purpose.
Women with Purpose's Mission:
Women With Purpose strives to connect, cultivate and empower women who identify themselves as minorities (between the ages of 18-30) by enhancing professional and leadership skills to help women thrive personally and professionally. We do this by providing a series of seminars, with topics ranging from (but not limited to) negotiation skills, personal branding and financial literacy. Our goal is to empower our fellows to achieve their greatest potential by providing unparalleled opportunities for professional development and skill building.

Seminar Breakdown
These seminars will take place on the first Saturday of the month, for three consecutive months this spring (March, April & May) with a closing ceremony the first Saturday in June.
Each seminar will have the following breakdown:
9-10:30 am : Session A
10:30 -11:30am: Networking Brunch (Food provided!)
11:30 - 1pm : Session B

March 7th:
A.1) Personal Branding: featuring Farah Bernier, Strategic Human Capital, Talent Management at PwC and founder of Living Fabulously Fierce- a movement of inspiration, motivation, and influential connectivity amongst women of all ages and young girls.
A.2) Purposeful Life & Career: featuring Shannon O'Brien, EdM, MA- founder of Whole U., LLC – a career and life strategy consultancy, that supports clients through advising, workshops, and educational media.
B) How to Dress in the workplace: featuring Maria Vasilevsky, President and Founder of Stilista|Boston – a full-service style agency made up of a dynamic team of talented fashion stylists.
April 4th:
A) Women and negotiation (working with difficult people, salary negotiations, etc): featuring Jessica Porter, a consultant, writer, and speaker with extensive experience advising organizations across sectors and across geographies to create change AND author of 'Negotiating at Work'.
B) Financial Management and Financial Literacy through Home-ownership (Budgeting, tackling debt, credit score, wealth accumulation) : featuring Chenae White of NEPC and Denisha McDonald and Jessica Thompson of Urban Money Matters - a group created for Boston’s urban communities with the purpose of educating its people about all things “money.” They have taken steps to be part of the positive change they seek in our community by hosting monthly seminars to discuss various topics surrounding personal finance.
May 2nd:
A) Career planning (covering networking/cover letter/resume tactics): featuring Amy Andrade, Director of MassHealth Member and Provider Services
B) Career panel (entrepreneurship/tech/business/law) featuring numerous successful women from various sectors!
