My dad passed away on Dec 3rd, 2016.
They were married 48 years and they were inseparable, until cancer caused him to be in the hospital several times this year.
He was diagnosed with throat cancer 15 years ago and beat it. 2 years ago they found a mass in his lung. In Sept they discovered that the radiation didn't work and the tumor re-grew and that another tumor was found. Last month it spread to his brain.
He would have been 79 this Christmas.
He was an amazingly strong, creative, caring, kind soul. Growing up I just thought all daddy’s did everything from changing lightbulbs to car oil, from putting up pictures to fixing the roof. He made such wonderful wood creations for the holidays and toys for the kids. He taught me so much and I will miss and remember him every time I teach my own children what he thought me; every moment of every day.
They lived on their social security and what she got from her part time job.
I am hoping to raise money to help my mom pay for his final expenses and to set up a fund that she can draw from for bills and expenses. He has life insurance, but the expenses are tight and she will need help.
