The Wellywoo Fund was created by Jillian Hurd, who has worked in the veterinary industry for many years and has seen with her own eyes situations where financial restrictions disable the ability to save pets' lives.
In order to help pets who find themselves in these situations, the Wellywoo Fund was created, which will be used to help families who can't afford to pay for non-elective, emergency care.
The Wellywoo Fund is based out of St. John;s, Newfoundland, where pets within the province will be priority; however, pets living elsewhere will not be excluded. Distribution of the funds will be at the sole discretion of the administrators of the Wellywoo Fund and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The Wellywoo Fund and its administrators are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, or death experienced by a pet who has applied for and/or received assistance through the Wellywoo Fund.
Requests for financial assistance will be made by veterinary staff on behalf of their clients. Only requests from a veterinary clinic directly will be considered. Once a request for funds is recieved and approved, funds will be sent to the clinic and placed on the clients account, rather than to the client directly.
