NEED HELP PAYING OUR PROPERTY TAX!!!!!
Please help us to pay overdue property taxes so that we do not lose our home.
We declared bankruptcy five years ago. While that helped us to keep up with the home loan and other monthly expenses, we haven’t been able to save up enough to pay the property taxes, which go up every year.
The property taxes were bought at auction two years ago and everything we have been unable to raise enough money to pay it off. Now we find ourselves in dire straits. We have to raise $18, 000.00 USD by the end of 2016. The due date is February 15th, 2017.
The $18k will cover the back taxes and fees and penalties. If we can’t pay it off before the end of the year, we will also be expected to pay the tax due coming next year, as well. That could bring the total up to just under $22,000.00 USD.
Right now, I am employed as a shuttle bus driver and my wife is a caregiver. We make enough to get by with the regular bills and such, but rent in Chicago is higher than our home loan payments, so finding housing in a decent neighborhood would be difficult.
While we are confident that things will get better, we desperately need to clear this hurdle in order to continue in that direction.
We are asking that if there are any of you that are willing and able to lend a hand in helping us to keep our home to please do so.
We have only our eternal gratitude and appreciation to give you in return and whatever blessings we can give you in God’s will and being. Please know that this house is our sanctuary and that our salvation from losing it will insure that we will be able to keep working hard to get back on our feet and stand on our own, stronger than ever before.
