Waylon's Legal Expenses
Donation protected
This is my son Waylon. But more imporantly than that he is my world, my big love, and the reason I get up every morning. Unfortunately his biological father is unable to be the man he should be for my son. Waylon's birthday is 10/10/10 which makes him a little over 4 years old. This fall I discovered that his father was using Heroin daily even during his periods of possession. This makes it the third time in my son's four years that I have caught him doing Heroin.
The first time there were no lawyers, he took a methadone type drug for a few months, his parents came down, he passed a few drug tests then I found a stray syringe in my child's Christmas toys less than a year later. At this point I kicked him out of our home, paid some lawyers a bunch of money and once AGAIN trusted him following methadone treatment, counseling, and intervention from a Guardian Ad Litem (a professional appointed to act in the best interest of the child.). When he said he was through I naively believed him until he was arrested June of this year for stealing a lawn mower from Wal-Mart to pay his debts because he had lost his job as a result of abusing Heroin. He went to rehab for 30 days, he gets Vivitrol injections in his back, then the court ordered a nail test in December of 2014 which he failed for....Heroin.
So, here I am trying to be the best Mommy I can and protect my baby from a man who has admitted to relapse 4x in 4 years, a man who has driven my son to my house during his period of possession so he could go to the emergency room due to his arm swelling up as a result of injecting heroin WHILE my son was watching cartoons. I have spent $15,000 on lawyers thus far which I don't want or need back, however it was all of my savings, a tax return and a $3,000 gift from my grandfather. I am a vision therapist and I make $34,000 per year helping children and adults with strabismus, amblyopia, learning disorders, and visual impairments. I don't have any more money to take this man to trial. Just to retain my lawyer for trial will cost $5,000. I currently owe the firm $2,000.
ANY and ALL monies from this fundraiser will be given directly to Zinda and Davis Law Firm in Austin, Tx in order to protect my son the best I can. It breaks my heart that his safety is at risk because I can't afford to fight for him. If anyone can help I assure you he's worth it, and it will make a huge difference in his life and the amount of fighting I can do to at least keep in place constant supervision of his father's behavior and drug use if not remove this disease from our lives all together.
