WNYT News Report of the Wayside Inn Fire

     October 30th was a heartbreaking day for us.  A major part of our lives and our very livelihood was lost that day.  The Wayside Country Inn, our family owned business of more than 25 years was a total loss in a devastating fire.  With one unimaginable morning, everything we had built and the community staple that we strived to maintain every day of our lives was gone. 


   Over the last few days, the support and outreach that we have received from loyal customers and friends that we have made over the years has been outstanding.  We'd like to personally thank all of you for your kind words and prayers.  The relationships that we have built over the last 25 years are something that we could never replace.  In the wake of this unspeakable night, we have come to the decision that The Wayside will live on.  We feel we were more than just a building.  We were a gathering place where friends could meet up, feel at home, have a good meal, and leave with a smile on their face.  A place like that doesn't come along every day.  This is why we want to rebuild, not just our home, not just our restaurant, but your place as well.  For 25 years, we've welcomed all into our family and we'd like to continue doing just that.  But we need your help.

     Our goal is to rebuild the Wayside Country Inn and make it better than ever.  When we lost the business in the fire, five loyal full time employees completely lost their source of income as well.  We are reaching out to all of you to help contribute toward our reopening.  Whatever you can give is so unbelievably appreciated.  We have built our business on building relationships with our customers.  In a world where chain restaurants and big business establishments seem to be taking over, we feel it was more important than ever to have a place where you could bring your own family, and yet still feel like you were part of ours.  Please help us rebuild The Wayside Inn.  Your contributions will be cherished and put directly toward bringing the Wayside back to life.  Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
