Whitney's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Whitney and Sandy were preparing to take an important step in their lives and wed on June 20th with the blessings of family and friends. However, the wedding plans were thrown into disarray last week when Whitney suffered a stroke. As a result he lost feeling and coordination of the left side of his body. The good news is that after a week of excellent care at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, he has regained feeling and control in his left side below the neck and has been discharged. He will be out of work for some recovery period while his body repairs itself and his coordination improves but the prognosis is good. The bad news is that in anticipation of medical insurance coverage under Sandy's policy provided through her employer upon marriage, Whitney had no medical coverage and has amassed ten of thousands of dollars in medical debt for the hospital care, with more to come for home nursing and treatment. Although it appears Whitney will recover sufficiently to allow the wedding to go forward, albeit scaled back to just the ceremony, they enter into this union faced with a new mountain of debt and no savings from which to draw. Any donation to help reduce the burden of their misfortune and get the couple off to more positive start would be sincerely appreciated.
